Black Pottery of Manipur

The Black Pottery is originated from Longpi village, 37 kilometres of Ukhrul district of the Indian state of Manipur. It is locally known as Longpi Ham, made from a mixture of grounded and powdered rocks, completely natural raw materials are used and no chemicals or artificial items are added. It is one of the unique art where the potters do not use the potter's wheel.

The Black Pottery of Longpi is biodegradable and handmade products. It is a special utensil bring out the hidden flavors into dishes. It can be used as decorative items as well.
